Pumpkin carving
on: November 01, 2021, 01:03:51 AM
So my 23 y/o daughter wanted to carve a pumpkin for the front porch last week. Since I've been in the Delemont challenge this month I thought we should use the appropriate tool. The S52 blade and saw made short work of it. My daughter was so impressed she took a collection of SAKs with saws to tonight's Halloween party so  she and her friends could use them for more pumpkin carving.

Very nice! I would have used a SAK to carve my pumpkin as well, but I don't have any locking SAKs, and pushing a knife tip into a pumpkin really necessitates a locking blade.
Current SAKs: Explorer, SwissChamp, Handyman (modded), Climber, Super Tinker, Tinker, Woodsman (modded), Electrician, Pioneer, SwissTool, Executive, Ambassador, Champion Plus
Current Leatherman tools: PST, Original Wave, Wave, Wave+, Blast, Bond, Curl, Style PS, Micra

It was the same thing with my family — we didn't have enough of our special pumpkin carving knives (they look like fish scalers, but work great!), so Dad and I were using his Huntsman and my Ranger. Those saws sure get the brute force done, and the blades are, naturally, great for the finer work.

Nice job!

Thanks  :hatsoff:

The saw seems to work perfect for this task.
