GSI Pinnacle 4 Seasons
on: May 15, 2017, 02:30:27 PM
So I decided to upgrade my Camping Gaz S200 that I've been using since the late 80's. Although I can still get canisters for it they're not readily available. The remote canister set up appealed  so I first tried an MSR Whisperlite Int. which I will keep but am not liking the priming and other things about it.
First impressions of the GSI are good (I haven't had it long). I like the longer more flexible hose than the MSR and the burner seems to have good control being able to go quite low  but also crank if needed, and with the wider legs is a lot more stable than the S200.  Pics are my old stove,  the GSI, then the flame as low as I could get it without it spluttering (no wind) although it looks bigger than it did to the naked eye, then with it fully cranked.  The flame is much more concentrated than I'm used to and sounds a bit louder than my old stove as well.
I hope it lasts as long as my S200.

Looks like a good stove. Longevity will depend on build quality and amount of use over time.

A Mate of mine needed to get a new MSR Pocket Rocket as the threads on his wore out from lots of use and it wouldn't seal onto the gas bottle any more
