I have to admit, after seeing how mine was designed, i had wondered if this was a possibility. However, I am pleased to say that I was unable to replicate the issue Grant is having, even with significant amounts of force applied to my tool. I can overextend tool if I also intentionally hold the lock open, but I don't see any way to accidentally disengage the lock during use.
Oh no. The one new SOG I was kinda waiting to get later on and now I am not so sure.
