Amici,
Very COOL!
You know, this post is funny, since I was just thinking about this topic the other day. Namely, I was wondering what was the preferred model for most mountaineers that attempt to climb Everest. Although I have read stories of sherpa's "swapping" their standard models for one of the larger ones when given an opportunity with an unsuspecting climber.

But I have never seen any detail post or article stating that most mountaineers climbing Everest prefer this model.over another.. I would have to say for me, I would have to go with one of the big guys in 91mm. Either the Champion, Craftsman, and yes even the SwissChamp..

Cheers,
Serge

Just to be clear, I was a tourist, not a climber.  :D

Even at this altitude any physical activity is very difficult, oxygen content is less than half of sea level. Running up a 10 meter mound is like running 10 kilometers at home, you would be gasping for air but it's as if you are't breathing in anything. I can't imagine going any higher without oxygen.

On a side note, there was a 78 years old Japanese woman there too, walking with her cane, gotta respect that.

Sounds like a great trip. I have a hard enough time walking around at 13,000 ft.

Awesome photo, looks pretty desolate over there.  :o :like:

It is, pretty much nothing grows at that altitude, besides it's too early in the year, still close to freezing at night.

Are those names and initials and stuff like that in the background or am I just seeing things ...

Could be Tibetan but I can't read it.

Here are some bonus photos from around the camp.

Great Picture!
My SAKs just went close to 3000m so far, but this is not the end

What I had with me on my alpine trecks was just a Deluxe Tinker. Small pliers for repairing / gripping stuff, scissors for bandaids, ...
My ideal mountain knife would be some sort of Compact with Philips and added pliers and metal file layer.
Guess I have to look for some mods.

Cant imagine I might need anything more. Woodsaw is not needed, no trees up there.  :pok:

Those are definitely Chinese hanzi (or Japanese Kanji) on the bottom left, and it looks like it says "JORE" above them.
