Chance Encounter
on: May 24, 2017, 01:54:30 AM
Megan and I ran across the road to pick up some ice cream in preparation for tonight's hockey game, and I absent-mindedly noted that the guy behind the counter had a hat from the local hardware store on his head.  As I walked by, he commented that he liked my shirt, which is one of the MTO Patent shirts, specifically the Gerber one.

I assumed he just thought the patent drawing was cool (which it is) so I told him that it was a patent drawing for the Gerber Multi Plier, and he said "Yeah, I know, I have one.  And like a dozen others."

Megan just about rolled her eyes out of her head, knowing what was coming next!  It became a short game of show and tell as he pulled out a Damascus Boker Magnum and a Smith & Wesson knife, which I swear I didn't say anything about....   :ahhh

I told him he needed to visit Multitool.org for knife and multitool info and he said he'd be all over it later on this evening.

So, Kurt, if you do stop in and see this, great to meet you man!   :tu:

I thought the judge told you not to do that anymore? :ahhh

I was going to go back and show him some cool stuff but it's generally frowned upon to go into a convenience store and pull out a knife....

Last week I pulled out my Rebar to cut open the biscuit that came with my coffee, since it was annoying the hell out of me! :bnghd:

The coffee was offered to me by my client, the guy behind the bar who has a shooting range in the basement.
For a minute, I forgot that the police was just getting finished and was gathering at the bar area...

Considering the knife laws over here and that awkward moment of silence, I thought someting along the lines of "smurf".

And then they all sat and had a coffee theirselves

One of them commented that I had a nice tool and flashlight with me.
He appeared to be a flashlight enthousiast, showing his privately bought Fenix, and praising it to heaven.

Keeps the day interesting!

after leaving the garden today I walked by net to a group of workers who were mounting glass panels on a big building close to the bus stop.
One of them carried a Victorinox Swisstool Leather belt sheath (the ultra wide and bulky one) and it was really worn and used, but I couldn't tell which tool was inside.

I was left with the curiosity the rest of the bus trip.
