Overnighter at Lone Wolf Campsite, South Wales

Hi all. Hope this topic is ok! Wanted somewhere to put a few photos from a Saturday night trip last weekend. Let me know if this thread is not in the right place. Thanks!

Three friends and I went for a trip to the excellent Lone Wolf site at Glyn-y-Mul farm (http://glynymulfarm.co.uk/)on Saturday. First time I've used the tarp for more than one person.


Tarp setup in a nice clearing at the edge of the woodland.


Side view. We set it for two rain runoff ramps - because it was chucking it down when we were setting up!


Fire pit with back stone, shelf, grill and reflective wind guard.

Hairy Welshman Monthly?  I thought they stopped publishing that around the time that Scandalous Scots went out of business?   

Looks like you had a great time!  The bugs are far too bad here at the moment for camping with a tarp.  I think I have lost three pounds of blood already to the little buggers!

My mistake, I was thinking of the amalgamated Creepy Celts Newsletter.

As yes, I was a bit of a feast for the midges but it doesn't bother me too much - shouldn't have slept with one bare arm out of the bivvy!

Also, speaking of bugs, I left a can of cola on the floor whilst prepping some food, and when I picked it up and gulped from it did I realise that there was a slug on the edge of the can. I thought the mouthful tasted a bit, um, squidgy. Oh well, it's a bit of protein at least.

I'm trying not to think about it too much! At least it was only a little slug, and I washed it down with some chilli con carne and beer, so, all good I think!
