After you'd gone, I turned the frame round and put the kettle back on to even up the discolouration. It certainly pumps some heat out, as it got the frame glowing red....

Wow more heat than I thought it would put out. It's a good job you can control the flame height with those holes or you'll be burning everything in the pans.

I'm going to find myself one of those

That ferro rod you sent me is great for lighting the trangia :tu:

Nice.  It sure beats using a lighter.  I mean to say its much more fun.  The Trangia is such a fun little stove.  I enjoy mine quite a bit.  With use they acquire such a wonderful patina as well.

Finally a dry enough evening to get the trangia and firebox out and see how long it takes to boil a big stainless steel kettle.  Filled it with a litre of water and put it on as soon as I lit it. It took 16 minuntes from cold to whistle blowing.







A nice cuppa and an egg custard to go with it

Looks good to me. :tu:  There's something that just makes a cuppa taste better when you've made it on a Trangia.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

 No meths aftertaste either  :rofl:


It's a good job we got plenty of the fuel, I've nearly used half a litre already.
