Casio battery change
on: June 05, 2017, 11:52:06 AM
I suppose,on paper,my Casio MRW-200H doesn't owe me much. After all,I got it in a trade for a Lansky Turnbox, but when it's original battery died,it would have costed me more to get the battery changed than to buy a new one!

Thinking I'd nothing to loose,I took it apart, and ordered a new battery off Amazon. For a couple of quid,I replaced the battery myself successfully.

A few weeks ago, after three or four years use,the battery died again. So for your delight, here's what the inside of the Casio looks like....

I change them myself also.  One thing to note that on some timex and casio's, it is necessary to short out the plus side of the battery with a contact (usually labelled AC) once the battery is changed.  Sometimes it works ok without being shorted but not always.  I use a pin on the contact and tweezers from a victorinox knife to complete the short and it works well.  There is usually a label on the battery holder with an arrow towards the AC contact.

Most dead watches I find work well once again once a new battery is installed.  It seems that most people won't change them or get them changed once a watch dies.

John.

I just bough a Casio as a work watch earlier this week. I'm going to be working construction and didn't want to beat up my Wenger, and Kmart had a good deal for it. So for $18, I am now a Casio owner. It seems well made enough. Looking forward to putting it through it's paces
