The Nitecore P-12
on: June 05, 2017, 09:26:28 PM
I don't care for the abuse testers on You-Tube.  Generally speaking, nobody in real life treats an expensive light like that.  I mean it isn't fair to the company to fling a light down a concrete stairwell and then act surprised and indignant when it doesn't work. So, here's my EDC light, a Nitecore P-12, 2015 edition, with natural spectrum bulb.  It looks pretty good for a daily carry light doesn't it?  Very clean.  It should be, since it just went through the laundry. :twak:

I was sitting in my office at the other end of the house and I started hearing  Ka-thunk, Ka-thunk, Ka-thunk, coming from the dryer. I had no idea what was causing the sound but I figured I'd better investigate before I either destroyed the dryer or burned down the house.  When I opened the dryer there was the P-12, on, and in strobe mode, lighting up my steaming jeans like it was a rave.  That means it went through the wash and about half the dryer cycle before it came out of my pocket and started making the noise.  I've no idea how it got turned on and switched to strobe mode, but I am amazed that it is still fully functional a couple of weeks later.  Nitecore has earned my endorsement. :2tu:

That's a solid endorsement if ever I heard one  :salute:

I have that light, and it is impressive.  Nitecore has a solid lineup.

Ok people,  let's keep this family friendly here. Ok?

I've always liked Nitecore's ingenuity, and have numerous of their lights, myself (the P12, pictured, 5th from the left - it's an older version, though).

Although I don't torture test my lights, I feel Nitecore quality is solid, and I've never had one fail me, yet.

I just wish they had more models in a neutral tint.  I tend to gravitate towards more neutral and sometimes warmer tints, for most of my applications.

Might have to get my hands on one of their P36 lights, with the MT-G2 emitter :-)

Enjoy your P12, my brother!
