As of 11:00 AM today the Gerber Double Take, wrapped, boxed, and enveloped in white bubble plastic, entered the Dutch postal system and is now on its way to Athens.

Very good! The clerk at the post office told me to allow 3-5 work days for delivery. Exciting! I wonder which package will arrive first.

I received it today. I can say I like it a lot. It has nice symmetry and feeling, with its spartan design. It is flat and very nice in the pocket. I open both blades easily (with my thumbnail) but closing it is more difficult since the axis lock doesn't protrude much.

Thank you mate!

I forgot I also have this one: Colt Double Lockback.

Small, light, very sharp, beautiful to look at.

It's in my jeans pocket now, much easier to carry than the Opinel. I sharpened it a bit and now let's see how 6.5cm clip will do vs the 8cm spear. The serrated warncliff is a bit plus anyway.

If I manage to engrave it with my wife's name in Linear B using a laser I will have fewer withdrawal symptoms.

The Buck Alpha Crosslock knives are (were?) available in several configurations. The Code 3 model has plain and serrated blades.

I can say that I love the Gerber (it is my first Gerber and only recently I got my first 3 Bucks also) and I EDC it and used it for most jobs I used the Opinel for. I would like it to be slightly bigger, with 7-8cm blades, but it is still very good and goes unoticed. It is also a nice fidget. The Wharncliffe blade is quite useful, not because it has the occasionally needed serrations but mainly because its tip acts as a safety blade. I might buy a couple of more double folders, because after the Surge and the Charge I loved the concept and I don't want to take out the Spirit for anything. It also has thinner blades.
