Hi,I want to upgrade my Alox Executive with a caplifter and maybe a small screwdriver. One way would be to cut the lifter profile into the nailfile and a small step into the tip of the orange peeler.Has anyone done this before?I also saw Wenger tools could be harvested for this (i.e. Pocket Tool):(Image removed from quote.)What diameter do the pivot holes have on 65mm Wenger? Thanks!
Today I had enough and decided to go for it.I chose a 58mm-Caplifter tool as a guide:(Image removed from quote.)And then it was cutting wheel time. (Image removed from quote.)After some polishing the finished result:(Image removed from quote.)In action:(Image removed from quote.)Happy crackout is happy.

That looks great! I picked up a pre-owned Executive from the MTO Store recently, and was already planning on making some changes to it. I think this mod might be getting added to the list

I'm still at the throwing crazy ideas about stage. It might end up being one of those projects that never quite gets anywhere

Nice! But what about weakening the driver by moving the metal?
Quote from: Pablo O'Brien on July 24, 2017, 11:19:39 PMNice! But what about weakening the driver by moving the metal?A) It's only a small driver, so torque won't be high.B) The amount of material left is still about as wide as the blade of the driver, so it;s lo weaker than any other long driver would be.C) Drink enough beer, and you won't care anyway

I asked this somewhere else, too. Anyone thought about doing this on the nail file, instead? The tool is thicker and it's normal use puts less stress in it.

I considered it on the one I made but opted against it on the grounds that the heat treating on the file would be more delicate than on the orange peeler.
