A point, with fries and a decent knife to cut it.

And butchered under sedation.

How do you like your steak done?
Anywhere between medium and ultra rare depending on my mood and the meat itself.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Medium well, or even that little peek of pink, the wife on the other hand medium well if not chewy, she sees that thing with any blood she going to start choking and it's going back!
Back in our young years she wouldn't even touch one, and one day she decided to be nice and made me one on the stove in a pan, I came home from work and something smelt good yet not to good. I sat down and she picked the stake out of the pan with tongs and dropped it on the plate and nearly broke it, it took me almost 2min to cut the first bite, then 3min to chew it,,  "oh yeah hun, it's good" lets go to Taco Bell,  lol.. I'll never forget that night,

Medium rare is the correct answer.

Also, I'm assuming that people that like there steaks on the well done side also use barbecue sauce on their steaks...  :twak:

I voted medium rare, but I eat a 90% vegan diet these days, and was never a big enough fan of steak... When I do splurge, it is going to be on Fried Chicken or Bratwurst or Braunschwieger. I'd not be shocked if I never have steak again in my life.

When I worked in the hotel industry we had a guy come in and order his burger "black and blue".  My mom said if her steak wasn't still twitching then it was over cooked.

I prefer mine rare to med rare.

Well done, but only on a Ribeye/Scotch steak, since the marbling/fat content tends to be higher.
I do have a friend, basically pass it over a light bulb and she calls it done.

Can't remember the last time I done myself a steak. I like the Whetherspoons Tuesday steak special, but if you order medium you get well done;order well done, you can re-sole your boots

If it's a really good steak,I can go rare, but medium by preference
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

I used to eat steak very rare but over the years began to like it well done. Depending on the cut I may cook it medium well or even medium if it's a fillet mignon. I know fillets should be cooked rare but medium is about as rare as my steaks get now.

About 3 minutes per side on the BBQ when the thermometer hits 700'F.

When we buy steaks from the farmer down the road, it is a real treat. Excellent marbling and you can cut through it with a fork. Their beef is the only steaks that have 'melted' in my mouth.

Now my mouth is watering.

So good.

Just had the fillet at Carrabba's, with marsala sauce. They're so thick you need to go medium .

At The Outback or Ted's Montana Grill its normally medium rare.

Unsurprisingly, there's a fair bit of diversity in the ways MTo members enjoy their steak.
At least we can all agree that steak is best with ketchup, right?

In my not-so-humble opinion Medium rare is the correct answer.

Butter.  Excessive salt.

Chunk sea salt all over it. Try cooking it in the cast iron on one side only.  In for three, out for 2, back in for three.  Don't flip it. Don't touch it.  Just make sure you have a good steak, good butter, good salt.
