Memostar Alarm Watch
on: June 20, 2017, 10:14:29 AM
Found this curiosity in a junk shop. Got it home and after a clean up I found it keeps good time and most importantly, the alarm works.

It's a Memostar Alarm watch - the alarm is set using the top crown to adjust the pointer and wind the mechanism up. Although it's clearly in used condition, it's not bad for a 40 odd year old watch.

I can't see how the date is adjusted.

If anyone is interested in this watch I'd be happy to trade it for some form of sharp thing  :D

I would assume that it does not have a quick-date-set function, so you may have to use the crown and just go round and round, changing the time - the date should change once for every two complete cycles of the hour hand.

It is interesting, but shipping here will be more than the cost of the watch..

Ha!

Well here's a bargain for anyone who wants to trade it for a SAK or trad knife - Like I said, it's been keeping great time and the alarm works (tested it about 10 times so far).

It's in used shape, but is an interesting watch.

I've got a 1952 Belgian army knife I could miss, a Waiter and a Bantam with eco scales, a quite used spartan with eco scales and a heavily abused Swisschamp which is perfect mod fodder...
Nothing else I can see leaving my house/pocket atm...

Scales ruined, no spring in scissors or pliers.
Pliers misaligned, no t&t, no pen or keyring.
Large blade and small blade have been used to pry and have a chipped of part. Other tools in quite good condition, liners and backsprings are all fine AFAIK.

The pliers might be fixable... just need to source some double springs...
