OMG :sa: :sa:
I love the workbench! But omg on the tools, wow, holy crap! I need a slab, every time I need a heavy hit I go in the kids room, he's got a old dresser that he uses for his Game Center that has a marble top, so I just go in and get a good hit. I keep waiting for the apparent people to pour a new walkway and maybe I could sneak and ask the company if I could take a small plastic storage box and fill it so I could smooth out the top and make something, but I don't do enough leather work to worry..

I am just posting the photos in case anyone wants more info on it. I will say, I got a lot from eBay when folks were getting out of leather work. Quite a lot of it from the local Tandy dealer before he closed.
A little Leatherman information.

What follows are the various stamps that I have. Some of these are number and alphabet sets, and others are decorative. I started off with a cheap alphabet set for marking tools bought at a local tool store. That is my most used set actually as it is very small in nature. The other sets are more decorative and come in varying sizes. You don't need them, but they do make your life easier if and when you do.

Grommet, rivet, snaps, and various other fastener tools along with the little anvils.

I found this old washer punch set at the local pawn shop for a song and a dance. It has come in handy as it will punch washers in one strike.

All of this fits into one of the drawers downstairs...awesome.

Hey I think that's one of my sets of alphabets,
Here's my little setup, some of the tools are missing cause I put them on my large workstation. But this is what I made, a unique setup cause I didn't have much room, the real unique thing about it is you turn it 180° and it turns into my paracord workstation, and obviously a lot is missing out of that setup! And here's one of my pices I tried my hand at, my wife wanted a butterfly, and the little guy wanted a custom wallet so we started that, I think we should get back at it, it's only been waiting like 9months..

Love your setup MadPlumbarian. Talk about maximizing the available space.

Here are a few more tools...

A lace/fringe maker. Attach this to the table, and run some leather through it, and the multiple adjustable blades will do the rest.

Stitching wheels and skivers.

Adjustable V groover perfect for making bags, 3 bag punches, a swivel knife sharpening aid, and a heavy duty stamper.

Overkill on the rotary cutters.

Wow great setups Chako and JR thanks for showing them.

Is the inside of the wallet done JR  I'm thinking about making one soon maybe, but without card slots. I'd be interested to see how it turns out.
Super idea for the workstation.  :)

Chako I like your rivet setter set,  :) mine are all separate bases  :(

Here's a little close-up of my Pattada folder pouch. It's a couple of years old and the leather is getting a beautiful worn, shinny look. I might redo the stitching, adding a couple of holes on both ends, to make it more resistant.

Thanks. Yup, like the texture of the bone handles and the ergonomy is great. It also cuts like a razor.

Here's a little close-up of my Pattada folder pouch. It's a couple of years old and the leather is getting a beautiful worn, shinny look. I might redo the stitching, adding a couple of holes on both ends, to make it more resistant.

Well, instead of just telling others how to do it the right way, while my own stitching wasn't, I got off my lazy bum (well, to tell the truth it was the other way around, I sat on my lazy bum) and redid the stitching on my Pattada pouch. Added a couple of holes at the ends, so as to keep the edge of the smaller half secured against the other.

Note to self (and others): when stitching, don't skimp on the thread. I tried to be "frugal" and ended up having to cut the new stitching and redo it again. I didn't have a long enough thread the first time. I got some 5x the stitching length next and it was enough. Better have some spare thread thrown away than having to start again...

Final result. You can compare with the older pics. I also started at hole #3, went to the first, retraced the stitching and did the same at the end.

Nice job pfr
Since I started doing leather stitching I've wondered whether there is a ratio to use for the right thread length and I have always erred on the side of being too long so have had a lot of wastage.

Taken from one of my resources...

"To determine correct length of thread, pull two lengths off spool...equal to your arms' length (both arms spread wide open). This will be bout 8' to 10' in total length. Do this with each thread you prepare. Do not cut thread length to fit any particular project. Make them all of about the same length. Instructions explain joining thread, using short ends, etc...if more thread is required".

Yeah, there will always be a little wastage. If the length is long enough, I keep it for a smaller project down the road.

This, too. I've used some small pieces of thread for my keychains. Thread is also dirt cheap, you can afford to waste some now and again.

I had to go to the store to buy more AAA batteries. Now that I have done this, I can now install the under-shelf lighting. These little Velcroed units give off a good amount of LED lighting, as each unit comes with 3 swivel lights and 2 power settings.

Here is the  desk with all 3 lights installed.

Almost done the move.  :salute:
