Vic Cellidor Scales with Bail Question

I have an old Vic with cellidor scales, a bail and hidden rivets. The main blade is snapped off at the tang. I've done mods on newer Vics but not one with a bail. Can I pry up the scales like on a regular cellidor knife but leave the bail in place? I just want to swing them out of the way so I can replace the main blade, brass pin, etc.

I'm not real sure, someone will have an answer for sure. Hobie on youtube restores a lot of vintage saks, he might have a vid about it.
