Body hair is going the way of the dodo anyways. Just wait till they come up with some kind of cheap idiot proof genetic therapy kind of thingy...  :D

I just love hypsters, with their trimmed well-groomed huge beards (and wax-shaved chest and legs).

I think that's how most of them get to have facial hair...

Or something like that.

I think we've had the beard conversation before

Its funny to me to think that a male that cannot grow a beard is less than a man to some .  Each one of us has a notion of what a "man" is.  There is so much that goes on between one's ears that its not always definable across generations let alone continents.

What I can say is, no ones idea of what man is has relevance unless the idea is shared by someone else.  Then those who share similar ideas can debate till they're blue in face.

I've often said, unless you can go back in time a walk a mile in someone else's shoes, its best you shut the F up.

I'm glad my daughters have a clear understanding what constitues being a good man is.  To hell with manly man crap.

What was the general topic of the Facebook page?

The original post was someone asking if they should shave off their beard or not.  Then someone posted a meme similar to this one:

You can see the results from there in the screenshots.

Times change, but I don't think the definition of what it takes to be an adult (man or woman) should remain a constant.  But, if a beard is what this idiot thinks is important, then by all means good luck to him.

It wasn't long ago in the US that most men shaved everyday.  This beard thing has stuck around now for a little while.  My feeling about beards,  well my feelings about certain guys who because of ability to grow a bread remains.  I find it lame.

Not so long ago these same guy were clean shaven, but just as soon as the "trend" got going they were all looking like ZZ Top.  Its lame.  They'll soon abandon their beards for the next trend.  The man bun.  I've seen quite a lot of man buns.  I've also seen the curled waxed mustache ends recently.

The young men ( high school ) aged with beards still throws me off.  My daughter thinks its hilarious they have them.

For a while guys were getting their faces waxed and tweezed.  I recall hearing other guys giving them heck as a result.

What bothers me is anyone who decides the standard then gives people crap if they don't meet their standard.

They way I see beards these days are, Trendy.  Its here and it'll fade away like other trends.

It has lasted longer than I thought tho.

I agree the notion of being a man relies on a quality beard is just ludicrous. But I also think some of those memes are funny, I try and not take it too seriously.

Yeah I can have a good laugh at most things.  Truth is I talk a little trash ( to my friends ) when I see certain things while out.  The man bun in particular has made me snicker a bit recently.

Do I honestly care what anyone decides they want to trend with?  No.  To each their own and while I may at times talk a little poo its just me being a jerk with my friend.

Now the mullet  or the dude with a completely bald head and pony tail

Kidding.  Like I said I'll talk a little poo but thats about it from me.

The beard trend, IMHO, started to gain speed as "Duck Dynasty" gained attention.

Before that show made a quack, rarely saw full beards in Urban spaces, a few trimmed versions in the burbs, and some full beards in the rural areas during cold weather.
Now on vacation in Cancun this last winter, full beards and tattoos all the rage.

Tats gave me excuse to study the shapely ladies!
