I honestly love all the different styles and again I'll talk poo but I love it.  What I really love are the Cosplay people.  I wish work places would allow it.

I don't care if guys want to start wearing tutus in public.  It's none of my business, and I'm happy to live and let live.

Just don't go around talking about how I'm less of a man that you are because of some arbitrary yardstick.  Not unless you are willing to back it up, because I don't mind taking the odd shot here and there.  Act like a smurf, be treated like a smurf.   >:D

I really wouldn't mind any of these if they were not part of a trend... Trends are for teenagers, not old smurfs...  :D

Yup.  Waaaay back when I had a FB account.  I posted a meal I had cooked for my kids.  I was messaged by a few of the mom friends I had.  I was told to stop showing off.  I was told I was making them look bad since I worked a full day then came home and produced such nice meals for my family.  That week not only did I cook "extra" nice meals but I made sure to post lots and lots of pictures.

FB is a carnival.  Its endemic of where some people have deteriorated to.  IMO of course.  I was on FB for about 6 months.  It was a chore which seem funny now since I post pretty regularly here

EDIT.  Its not only tough guys, its bitter moms who microwave meals.  I'm not judging microwaved meals now  :tu:

Only reason I have a beard ( a short trimmed beard) is because I am to lazy to shave during the week   Mind you if I could grow a long beard quickly I might try it though :D I do live out in the sticks in the mountains so it wouldn't be very put of place here :D

I agree that a lot of people grow beards now as a part of a trend though  I know one guy that has a very large beard but he has had it since he was in high school about 25 years ago and can cut it off and grow it back in less than 6 months :ahhh He had it way before the trend though ;) and also wouldn't judge a person either way whether they had one or not :tu:

I don't know if I can agree that beardedness (totally a real word!) is a trend. My father had a full beard most of my lifetime, and I've had various arrangements of facial hair since reaching adulthood. Don't know, to me beards have always just been a thing that some men do and some don't. I like having one, but I sure as smurf don't hang my identity as a man or a person on it

I agree, I have a beard too but it's pretty modest.   Some dudes just try too hard, usually the type that wear man-buns, carry man-purses, and make sure they are listening to something you haven't heard of...
but I do think this stereotype is getting a little worn out.  Awl anyone has to do is be true to themselves.   :tu:

There are quite a few well-groomed-bearded hipsters in my envt. I think it makes some of them look silly or old but they're  dating my cousins and they're ok guys (with some weird ideas about food).

I saw a guy a few weeks ago in my neighborhood that I thought was probably 80. He was riding an ancient bike that he'd probably been riding since the 50's.  He was dressed in a tweed suit in the hot sun and had the pancake cap to top it all off.  I was impressed that a senior was as active as this guy was.

Then he got closer and I saw that he was like mid 20's.

I know they say kids grow up fast these days, but that's just crazy!

One of them died with 299 other hairy men for nothing.
The other died of an infected boo boo because he was too manly for medicine.

I think all this "beard worship" is silly as well. I've had a beard for 13 years and the primary reason for that is because I'm lazy.

When I'm driving in my car
And a man comes on the radio
Telling more and more useless information
Supposed to drive my imagination
But he can't be a man
Cos he doesn't smoke
The same cigarettes as me
I can't get no
Satisfaction
No,no no!

Here I am, on my motorcycle, with a beard, holding up a MUT. I still do not consider any of that horse pucky as a yardstick of what being a man is. Frankly. if one wished to summarize it to its most simple state, being a man means having an X and a Y chromosome. Things are never so cut and dry however, as I have had students in the past who identify as the other sex, thus that simple definition is too simplistic these days.

A little Leatherman information.
