Here I am, on my motorcycle, with a beard, holding up a MUT. I still do not consider any of that horse pucky as a yardstick of what being a man is. Frankly. if one wished to summarize it to its most simple state, being a man means having an X and a Y chromosome. Things are never so cut and dry however, as I have had students in the past who identify as the other sex, thus that simple definition is too simplistic these days.
Don't forget some grow beards to hide the ugly. I have a friend with basically a triple chin so the beard hides that lol.

There's still a lot of things I need to do for my country, and most of those require that I be a living organism.

As General Patton said: "Now, I want you to remember that no *smurf* ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb *smurf* die for his country."
So I sometimes like to plays the devils advocate. For conversations sake of course. But, let's not forget that there are some damn manly men with beards. (I get the fact that it's not the face pubes that make the man, but I'm just saying...)
