When Kev Davey called round earlier, I tried to show him the clip or Harley and Co terminating the existence of the Less Proud abomination. In the thread, Harley linked directly to the page rather than hotlinking it here. That link is still live, but the clip wasn't there.

Fartobucket may be even more broken than we thought
I remember that clip. The explosion was smaller than I expected...
But that was because of the distance.  :o
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

I'm glad I stopped by this thread.  I wondered what the heck happened.  I don't use image hosting sites but I can imagine there has got to be a LOT of very angry folks.

It sure would be nice to see someone scoop up all the people PB will loose as a result.

the way they see it, they were not making any money from 3rd party hosting, so people leaving will improve their profitability

I don't understand why anyone wants to use a photo hosting service at all.  I've never used one.  All of my pictures are on my computer and on back up drives.  If I take vacation photos or something other than knives and multi tools and I want a back up copy I just leave them on that memory card from the camera and file the memory card in a labeled envelope in a file box and buy another memory card for the camera.  Never had any problems.  Is photo bucket going to allow everyone to copy or recover their photos that were stored there or will everything just disappear if you don't upgrade your accounts?

^This

And Photobucket isn't deleting any pics, they just don't allow us to link them to here,
which is total bullsmurf because 90% of my pics there exist solely because of MTO

I did say it before that for most of us it is not a personal problem -It is the forum that is suffering as a lot of threads have been destroyed now.

This is the reason most are not willing to pay for the service.

Just to notify all that you can download full albums if needed, it will just take some time, but will be faster than just downloading a pic at a time

thats definitley good to be able to back up the photos. But a major issue that dosent seem like it'll resolve itself is that forum posts that used those photos links are now useless.

Thread after thread of hot garbage, photo bucket smurfed the internet and forums big time. This is kinda the first of its kind really, it's super unfortunate. Especially on a forum like this that the pictures aren't just fluff and memes, but important comparisons and side by sides and modification walk throughs. Man, I'm still super bummed out. I'm predicting there will be no Photobucket a year from now, so get your photos out...

Would there be a way for someone who still had access to the dead link photobucket photos to upload them the the same thread using another hosting option. Maybe email photos to mod and they can modify the old post? Any option like that to help reserect those years of work?

And that only helps to the people who still have access to the files AND, a big and, the people who are still active on the site..

Man, did I mention I'm bummed by this  :-\

Well, it would help if there was one or two people with few photos...

However...

Photobucket screwed thousands of users over the world (not just here) so no, unfixable...
My photos go back four years, no way to fix all the threads even if the mods were gods basicly, the pics are just gone :twak:  :pok:

I'll just repost some of the important ones I've done lately as soon as I've uploaded them to Flickr and be done with it
