how about some "I Blame Kirky" T-shirts too?

I was just thinking about those the other day- in fact, we have had a design worked out for some time, it's just a matter of doing them up.

Anyone else interested in a Blame Kirky shirt?  :D

Def

Hell yeah! I blame Kirky for us not having "Blame Kirky" T-shirts! :twak:

So if you had to bring a multi-tool on the Alone show, and you can make it yourself with your own priorities and compromises, what features would it have?

I'm not familiar with the Alone show, but a quick check on IMDB shows this:

Quote
Ten men try to survive as long as they can in the Vancouver Island wilderness, carrying only what can fit in a backpack. Alone in harsh, unforgiving terrain, these men must hunt, build shelters and fend off predators, all while documenting the experience themselves. It's the ultimate test of man's will.

That actually seems pretty luxurious- I can fit everything I would need to survive in a modest sized backpack.  Firestarters, matches, maybe even a small camp stove, a hatchet, a pile of energy bars, a water filter, small pot, decent fixed blade, head lamp... Heck, I still have a lot of backpack space left and that's a fairly extravagant setup already!

As for a multitool I'd modify or set up my own way...  that's a good one too.  TBH, I would probably start with a full sized CRKT Zilla Tool but swap the plastic scales for Micarta (not necessary really, but I think increasing the toughness would be a good plan) then adding in a wood saw in addition to the blade.  That would give you the pliers, which could come in handy for the pot, and a good sized blade and a saw.  It might not be ideal for things like batoning the blade to split wood, but the saw would largely render that unnecessary anyway.  Besides, I have never been a fan of batoning a blade, and much prefer to do it with a sharp rock as I am much less dependent on those, and they are much easier to replace in the woods.

Of course I would like to see a Zilla with a saw anyway, whether I'm in a survival TV show or not.  :D

I've seen about one and a half season of that show, and I think they have a rule of bringing just 10 items. (Plus clothes I assume).

Their main issue seems to be getting enough food, and the psychology of staying out in the wilderness for hours/ days/ weeks/ months.

A well rounded multi-tool should have the potential to be useful for all the slightly offbeat small tasks that shows up.

The problem with a lot of these survival oriented shows is that if I go off into the woods/jungle/island, whatever, I may not come back, especially if the item I am allowed to bring is my dog.

Ever thought about adding a chat feature to the forum or what's up on those 10th anniversary patches?  >:D >:D

I know you are taking the piss, but for the new folks out there that may have wondered this.... we have had at least two chat clients installed over the years and both failed miserably.  We gave up and I doubt we'll ever bother to do it again.

10th Anniversary?  Stop living in the past man, this is the 11th Anniversary!   :pok:

Def
I know the chat failed big time. But I do miss it. I loved being able to talk to members in real time.

How do you manage to atract good loking, young, women?

I used to be employed, well invested, respectful and confident.  Those are great places to start.

So if i understood right, the answer is money?

Nope. Grant had a really big flashlight...

Oooh, what battery type?  :o

18650's.  And it takes four of them, producing 3500 lumens.

Well, we don't know how many they actually start off with? Only footage of those who make it back since they film themselves.

I haven't watched it in a bit.... but when I did watch it I watched it because Megan wanted to watch it.  The only episode of Naked and Afraid I ever felt was worth watching was this one:

Yes.  I see no reason for them to be the prices there are, other than a single importer per region holding everyone hostage.

Predator, at least one on one.  Predator has better weaponry and the ability to strategies.  Aliens are like Zerg and are best when thy can overrun an opponent with sheer numbers.

TJ is terrible on the highway and I have little interest in a two door JK.

Love at first sight or slowly growing love?

Has to be at first sight- everyone knows that true love only lasts roughly two hours before someone has to run through an airport to stop someone else from taking that job in Paris and leaving them forever.
