Removing thumbstuds
on: July 09, 2017, 03:11:44 PM
Hello everyone. I want to remove my folder's thumbstud but they seem to be no ordinary screws. Any tips on what to do? Been using my Leathermans to twist the studs out but I'm having no success

I believe they are screwed on and probably loctiteed in. Try heating them up first. They could be pressed in though which may be a problem. Not sure for the Gerbers.

Thanks for the reply. I think they were pressed in. So what I just did is hacked the studs out. It looks bad, but its now smooth to draw out of my pocket.
