My Electician Plus
on: October 18, 2008, 08:00:27 PM
I just got an Electrician Plus silver alox last weekend

I really like the feel of this knife it is also my first alox knife and I see what all the fuss is about

I am gonna pair this knife with my LM (heretic I know :pok: ) Pulse so I will have both tools covered

What the Pulse lacks is a saw and an awl and the Electrician Plus has both

and what the EP lacks a file and scissors the Pulse has so it's the best of both worlds

by that I mean LM and Vic ::) :D :D :D

'Tis a good knife. I have one on the desk at the moment (Thanks SteelBlade  ).

I can never decide if I prefer it to the Harvester or not though

Neil
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I have a plus , great knife , needs a bail or lanyard in the worst way!I carry mine in a double pouch along with my Klien Eletricans scissors. I'm very fond of the short sheepsfoot blade.

Personally , I would gladly swap out the master blade for scissors , hard ano 3 wouldake it even better.

They are great little knives. I used mine today working in the yard. I had Scibeer put a clip on mine so I wouldn't have to keep digging it out of my pocket.

 pretty clip on that knife you have there

that seems a great alternative since it doesn't have a lanyard ring or anything on it :tu:

Also pairs nicely with a LM Squirt E4.   The E4 has wire strippers/cutters/pliers,
a nice Phillips driver (NOT the flat one like the P4), metal file, and small screwdrivers.
It even gives you the tweezers you don't get on the alox SAK.

Great suggestion there Andy :tu: If I get an E4 Squirt (and I have been looking ::) ) I will definately keep that in mind

Sounds like an E4 would be a great compliment to the Electrician Plus.

The lack of phillips drivers on the Electrician models is the only thing that stops them from being the perfect knife for their stated purpose.

I'm surprised the Electrician Plus isn't more popular, or at least as popular, than the Farmer among outdoors oriented folks..

I was thinking the same thing  Looks like the extra blade on it would appeal to more  ppl    (it did to me anyways ;) ) Perhaps the name throws ppl off maybe they think of it being more of a jobsite tool with a name like that were as the Farmer sounds more outdoorsey :D

The Electrician or the Plus pair nicely with a LM Squirt E4.   The E4 has wire strippers/cutters/pliers,
a nice Phillips driver (NOT the flat one like the P4), metal file, and small screwdrivers.
It even gives you the tweezers you don't get on the alox SAK.

Otherwise,  the "Master Electrician"  (a SMKW special) solves the no-Phillips problem,
including not one, but TWO phillips drivers, and a light, and pliers.

The regular Electrician pairs perfectly with a Blast.
Fan of the Leatherman mini-bit driver and the Vic backspring philips.
