Wingman scissors on a Wave - not as simple as l imagined...

I wanted to fit the Wingman scissors to a new version Wave and then replace the original scissors with a Rebar awl.

I wanted to replace the serrated blade with the Wingman scissors.

Everything l read about it made it look very simple, but my attempt failed.

Basically, the spring action is not working.

I have filed the pivot hole with a diamond file but do l have to file a flat on the spring part as well? I was hoping that this will allow the liner lock to function.

Also do l have to re-arrange the order of the blades?

Finally, what's the deal with getting them out as there is no nail nick etc.

Thanks

George

Is it not opening? Look at the pivot area of the serrated blade... there's a slanted portion on it which allows it to clear the locking tab and open...

Normally the scissors replace the file or the saw, in this position the spring doesn't need filing and it also doubles as a nail nick.

To replace a blade you'll have to file the spring down enough to let the liner lock pass.

You'll also have to file where the liner lock engages with the scissors, see pics here but reverse the angle for the blade side.

You need the liner lock to function to get the spring action to work.

Then file in a nail nick or hook shape into the scissors like the inner tools have.

No need to re arrange the blades.

Hope that helps.

Thanks heaps guys.
l imagined that l needed to file the spring and the mating surface for the liner lock but as l couldn't find any memtion of it l thought l needed to switch the blade positions around.
Hopefully its an easy job tomorrow.

What Zoidberg said. Definitely.

And I did this, but then realized I used my blades much more and for everything scissors would do so I ultimately nixed the scissors..
