That DeerSlayer is new to me too. Pretty cool. How's the quality on it?

Decent quality but not as good as the Buck knives. It was made in Japan in the '70s

I've only got one folding hunting knife. It is a Schrade LB7 that I bought new back in the mid 70s. Have not carried it in probably 20 years.

I've got the single blade style, the Browning model 810. I was looking for a Buck 110 in the mid 90's,, and a friend showed me a Spyderco. I thought the Spyderco seemed cheap and breakable in comparison to a Buck 110. Instead I found the Browning 810, as it was lightweight and similar enough to the Buck.

I didn't end up getting a Buck - or a Spyderco - until last summer!

Here's my Buck 110 EcoLite Paper Stone in green with the Browning 810 with resin handles and rosewood inlay at the bottom

I will say that I love all of my Bucks 110 variations, however, this Japanese made Browning 810 has much much tighter tolerances, and when i dis engage the lock, the blade just falls to the pointing down position. Great lockup, and you can almost not even see the line between the tang and the lock. And the palm swell makes the knife fir the hand well. And the resin makes the knife feel like it's barely there. A very knice knife.

Indeed, $100 is a bit too much. They are trending at that on eBay right now. But, when the summer break for school is over, I have seen them go for $60(when a lot of people are broke).

I wonder if he'd take less? That's if you were in the market for another gentlemen's folder.
