SOG promoting Leatherman?
on: July 17, 2017, 10:41:31 PM
Don't you hate it when a perfectly good ad campaign blows up in your face?

That seems to have happened on the SOG FB page, where they were inviting folks to post a pic of a SOG product and a fidget spinner, and a bunch of the pics submitted included a Tread!   :ahhh

It must feel great to have gone to the effort of planning and organizing an event only to have your competition's product featured at least as prominently as your own.

We have some SOG stuff to give away as part of the 11th Anniversary soon, but in the meantime, if you are into SOG products and on FB, head on over to their FB page and let them know you appreciate them!

https://www.facebook.com/SOGKnivesAndTools/

I'm sure they's appreciate it.  :D

Hehe, I wonder if the Tread's inclusion was intentional on the part of the participants?

The contest was about fidget spinners- perhaps SOG is thinking that a Tread is a fidget toy?  :P

Liked their page...
Haven't got a single product from SOG but it's always fun to see some new releases. :like:

No SOG products?

You are missing out- the Powerlock is brilliant, and I have to say their blades (on average) are way sharper out of the box than anything else I've ever encountered.

I momentarily had the Sync 1 and while it didn't fit my belt it was super neat.  I played with it and while its not going up against their larger tools it was more than adequate.  Heck especially having it as a belt buckle.   I have a blacktip and PPP which are both pretty nice IMO.

That's hilarious!  :D but I don't fully have a problem, we don't have to be pinned down to one brand. So I say kudos  :salute:

Which also makes me remember, what's up the q3&4?! Want

Yeah maybe they should have someone filter those pics. But if I were SOG maybe spin (get it spin....spinner - babump bump) this as even with a LM Tread you still need a SOG 👍

I agree that for EDC you really can't stick to just one brand.  Each brand and tool has their own strengths and weaknesses and by pairing different tools, knives and brands you create the EDC equivalent of interlocking brick.

But in a brand sponsored contest I doubt you would want someone else's brand represented too.

The fact that it's a Tread is kind of funny- on the one side, it is a flashy tool and could upstage the SOG model.... on the other hand the Tread is all flash and very little actual substance, that it's hard to take seriously and as a result, the SOG looks good by comparison.  :D

Sort of like "I spent $150 on this fancy man bracelet full of tools, but to actually get things done I had to buy this $40 SOG tool."

I still can't believe they are charging $150 for that thing.

Would anyone be making a fuss if company X asked to see their fans' EDC with the company X product and 80% of the pics included a 58mm Vic?
