Never heard of them before. It looks like a puukko, and not at all the same time. That convex chissel grind looks interesting.

Good old Youtube......popped up a Survival Russia video where he shows a Yakut knife without handle and discusses its reason for being a bit.

Apparently part of the design is to utilize scarce steel to the maximum.

I have a strange itch to forge one of these.
