Gerber MT Jammed

Good day at the flea. Found this Gerber MT 600 SS Needle Nose. Slide forward, retracts perfectly. However it will not open, hard jammed. Photos enclosed, to no purposes, we all know what one looks like. Point, I have another one, works perfectly as have all I have owned/handled. What's with this one?
Oh, $3 but not for sale.

Possibly pliers jammed with rust in the pivot ?

As it turned out there really wasn’t enough blame to go around. Just very very very stiff. Broken blade so will ship to Gerber. Thanks
