I'll do this in sections I think. Not in chronological order.
For every passable picture I took, there were 4 more that didn't make the cut. And I will only be showing the best of the passable pics.
There were whole sections that I don't have good pics for.
For this reason, I will be also linking professional pics taken during the same event, with proper credits of course.  :salute:

I actually wonder if I should have just sat back and relaxed, and watched, instead of trying to take passable pics when professional photographers were also doing so?
What do you think?

First up, one of the coast guards helicopters. I gather there was supposed to be a sea rescue demo, but that never took place, due to it being needed somewhere else maybe?
Respect for the Coast Guard, risking their lives to save people.  :salute:
My pics, because its no so hard to take pictures of a helicopter.  ::)

Passing by, I like how the blades are visible.

Passing in other direction, door open. Wave!

Patrolling the seafront for the duration of the event, keeping an eye on the members of the public in the water and making sure that the pleasure boats stay where they are supposed to be.

DC-3, painted in Aer Lingus livery for the event. They used to operate tham waaay back in like the 30's.
Made lots of passes. :)
It truly was a beauty, and its hard to believe that people are still using them commercially.  :ahhh
Said to be a collection to loose parts flying in close formation. :D

First? pass.

Showing off sexy aluminium underside.  :o

Another cool pass. :D

Flyin' Slow 'n Dirty. Is it getting hot in here?  :ahhh

Bye bye.

APB on O'Brien Pablo. Disarmed and cantankerous. Approach with extreme caution.

Love the DC3.
Also, I had no idea Ireland had any idea what sunshine looked like. Did they import it for the occasion?

Thanks all.  :D

Yea, the DC-3 is a great looking plane. Irregardless of how noisy shaky or whatever it may be inside, I hope to get a ride some day.  :)

Do it, I hope to one day catch a ride in a DC3.

Then I highly recommend catching a ride in something Merlin powered (preferrably upside down), it will blow your mind.

Not Merlin powered, but these guys were at the show, the first display in fact.
I took no pics, so have a lovely air-to-air(?) pic taken by Ken Meegan:
Spitfire & Seafire by Ken  Meegan, on Flickr

That was the first time I've seen a Spitfire(and Seafire for that matter) in person. And I hope that it will not be the last.  :salute:

Should be Merlin powered, at least one of them.

So awe inspiring.

A Mustang was scheduled to perform, but it made an emergency landing at duxford some time ago, and would not be repaired in time. The pilot was ok thankfully.

Then I highly recommend catching a ride in something Merlin powered (preferrably upside down), it will blow your mind.

It was used as a troop transport during the border war in our country, and they are often referred  to as a "Kots Koets"....literally "puke carriage"

My experience was during an airshow many years ago, they filled it up with kids 4 or 5 times and did a quick circuit of town.

I'm a bit different, the most beautiful machine of all time for me is the F4U Corsair.

Lots of pilots is my family past and present, my dad had a PPL and was also an aircraft radio mechanic so I spent an inordinate amount of time on airports growing up.

Funny, never really wanted to fly myself, but my list of most beautiful machines  starts with:
1. F4U consair
2. Jaguar XK120
3. Mustang.......the plane, not the Ford

Thanks for the pics Pablo, looks like great fun!  :salute:

Once saw a Confederate Air Force (now Commemorative Air Force) air show. Had a fly-over by a B-17, B-24 (what my Dad flew in WWII), and B-29. Very impressive.  :salute:

Should come over here. Sometimes we get to see some topless men, too.
