My new carry method.
on: July 27, 2017, 07:59:25 PM
I recently traded with Kaput (thanks bud) and got a HBH pocket caddy. I have fallen in love with this thing and have been switching up my carry daily to see what works best for me. On the MT side it had fit the following so far.

Crunch
Spirit
Rebar
OG Wave
PST
Fuse
Buck 112
Buck Bucklite

And I'm sure many other MT's, but that is what I have been experimenting with so far. I love carrying full size MT's but am not a huge fan of belt sheaths so this works beautifully for me. Pair it with a light or pen and your good to go. I was pairing it with a Inova light (thanks Kaput) but remembered I have a Prince Mini that I stopped carrying because I didn't like the clip, but that is not a problem anymore with this setup. Here are a few combinations, but the possibilities are endless.

Good stuff, Cappy.  Much of the fun is experimenting with what to carry, and how to carry it.

Discreet and lightweight!  :tu: I have experimented a little with different ways of making a knife stay upright in the pocket, but that looks like a good method. Especially nice that you get no clip or stuff like that.

Ah, so this is called a pocket caddy! Been googling about this for the past hour until I stumbled upon this. I think I'll try one out. Thanks for posting, captain!

I have been tempted to make something like this for my KF4 and Climber Small combo, but it's one of those projects that I've never gotten round to starting. Good to hear that it is useful and comfortable though.  :tu:

+1

Have been thinking about making one of those. I'm still deciding between two (SAK/light) or three pockets (SAK/light/pen).

Quite a nice piece of kit there! Had a look around and it seems most styles are sold out everywhere. Hopefully they'll make some more down the road, because I'd like to try one out.

I found out that metropolicity makes pocket caddies.  (I think that's what they are. )

I think that the point was that not only did he make the more "traditional" Skinths (belt sheath/pouch) but that there are also a couple of pocket caddies in his lineup.

Oh, ok... I thought folks around here were already familiar with all the stuff Metro does.

Sorry, carry on!

I got a similar caddy from Gank Hank and mine is a star wars motif, I like the idea buy for some reason I don't carry it as often as I should. Even though it's "organized" I wonder if it's because it's too much weight in one pocket.

Cut it in half or get two smaller ones, one for each pocket?  :)
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!
