Hey Paul,When I've 'over peened' a knife in the past, stuffing a big fat flat head screwdriver and giving it a little 'wiggle' sometimes helps

A big driver and jer-jer-jiggle it a bit Granville If you do happen to fix it till it's broke I've got some brass pin stock if you need some Paul
When you peen your hinge pin there are a couple tricks that help.Make up one of these fancy little tools and insert it beside the blade and around the pin. This will keep you from getting the hinge to tight. When the shm is tight keep peening to swell the pin so it will fill the bolster's hole. Then you can pull the shim out and slowly tighten the remaining blade play.
It is coming along quite nicely Zed.
