The SAKs don't detach (quickly) from the lanyard, do they? If they did, I'd suggest carrying under the armpit, lanyard across the chest. Less dangling, less chance to get caught somewhere.

Well during all these years I've carried 4 different SAKs as neck knives, the Minichamp, Rambler and Wenger Mini Tool Chest and the most carried and often during Summer times when in pajamas and nothing else, the combo Executive + Squeeze light during the night, sleep and sometimes during the day as well.




This year the squeeze light was replaced by the Nitecore TIP. These two weigh nothing and do well enough for 90% of my lighting needs and duties

It's quite amazing how quickly you adjust to the weight. If you follow the link above to see what I carry around my neck (not everyday), it weighs a heck of a lot more than a SI. A lot of people might consider it ridiculous, but I have everything on there has been useful while I have been wearing it at least once. Some of them frequently. Despite this weight/bulk, I have often had to pat my shirt to see if I have actually put my lanyard on that day. You are aware of wearing it for the first few minutes, but you do quickly tune out from that awareness.

Fairly often. My alternate keyring is on a neck lanyard for those days when I don't want to have much with me (like the days I don't get as far as real pants) and there is Rambler on there.

In the past I've carried a Huntsman, a OHT and a Compact in that manner as well.

It doesn't feel like a brick  :D As only 2 layers, it sits in my shirt nicely - don't even know it's there until it's required.  :salute: At 50 says, you get used to it and it feels nicer (to me anyway) than having the weight around my waist, pulling my kecks down.
