Royal Mail Black Hole or the real Bermuda Triangle
on: August 11, 2017, 01:24:41 PM
It looks like the Royal Mail are pulling off another dissapearing act.
A package posted in Phoenix on the 3rd August was tracked to Heathrow Airport where it arrived at 1pm on the 7th.
Since then there's been no sight or sound of it :ahhh
290 miles away, 5 Hours by train.
Great work by USPS but Royal Mail seem to have done it again.

Maybe it's with customs?

Its frustrating when the package actually lands in the proper country yet goes missing.  Hopefully it will turn up soon.

After contacting Royal Mail by phone on Monday I was given this information;
"We've no record of the item arriving in our care yet, it may still be with customs/border control". :ahhh

According to the USPS track website it arrived in London on 7th August! :pok:

Believe it or not, yesterday I got this message from Royal Mail on Twitter, yes Twitter is the only other way to contact them.
"Hi Dave, the tracking on USPS means the item has departed the US and is now in transit to the London airport for processing, please keep tracking via USPS for further updates".

Guess what arrived this morning. :mail:
Complete with surprise bonus lanyard.

Thanks El Corkscrew  :salute:

Dave I've pretty much given up with RM, with the exception of my postie, everything before him is a complete shower. Glad you got it in the end.

When I hear Royal Mail mentioned I don't know whether to do this  or this  :twak:
Whenever I've been talking to my local postie he actually calls them the Royal Fail.

I've got a laptop coming from an Ebay seller in Texas. From there, it went to Franklin, KY (2 hrs away, I'm in SW VA), then to a hub in Grove City, Ohio for some dumb reason (I guess because my area is on the border between two Fedex hubs, and the one used for where I live is in WV instead of the VA one less than an hour away) on Saturday, where it was accepted, but no activity since then for almost 3 days, as if someone stole it, or it was forgotten about.

Same here, awaiting a package... added complication is that there are at least five different delivery services here and I don't know who has a contract with the post office where the package originates. Tracking number of the originating post office only reveals it's in Germany now - but the delivery service is not listed and the status is inconclusive ("arrived", "released from customs", and "attempted delivery" all generated with the exactly identical date/timestamp  ??? - highly credible of course).  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

It was Parcel Farce that did me again this morning, they attempted to deliver a parcel to me on Friday when I was off doing camping stuff with my son. So I went to the post office this morning with the card they left to collect it, guess what, no record of it  :twak:

Call Parcel Farce and they are adamant that is was left at the post office, back to the PO again, speak to the post master, they look everywhere, no parcel. Back on the phone to PF and get put on hold again, then told that it was still on the van and would be delivered today!  :twak: :twak: :twak: :twak: :twak: :twak:

It was supposed to be delivered today, but they didn't "due to heavier volume than expected". I feel Fedex's problem is that they've got too few hubs and not enough routes/drivers. The destination hub for my area is 2 hrs. away, while postal service (20 min.), and UPS (30 min).  This issue has happened with them at least 3 times, but I've never had anything like that happen with the mail or UPS.
