My new BG Hatchet and my old standby
on: August 11, 2017, 07:49:21 PM
My son picked up a new BG for me last night for us to use on hikes.  So far I really like it.  It packs more heft than I thought it would, but is surprisingly thin.  I thought I'd throw in a pic of our old standby tomahawk, a repro British proof model I picked up some years back.

 Thanks gents!!  The tomahawk is a ton of fun but it hangs a little low on the pack.  I'm itching to put the BG thru its paces!

I was hoping someone would ask, the lines seem really nice on it.

I'm sorry to leave you hanging guys.  I picked this up from Track of the Wolf Inc. who stated: Our British Ordnance axe is copied from an original found at a 1755 British camp site in Pennsylvania, and shown on page 100 of the book A Soldier-Like Way by Ryan Gale.

I have some closeups of it which I'll post soon.  It's very well balanced and built, and a real joy  to work with.

I think I found two versions with different handle length and shape. Linking the cheaper one here.

Also, congratulations on the new axe! Seems like a practical size to bring out and about. :like:
