Looking for a Vic green plastic sheath
on: August 18, 2017, 05:20:02 PM
Hey folks,
I was looking at Victorinox sheaths and pouches, and came across these green plastic slips for 91 mm knives.
I saw them on a Romanian web store, where they are listed as n.4.0386. A google search, however, did not yield any results, so I am wondering if there might be another official product number to look them by.
Have you seen these?

Nope, didn't even knew they made those type of sheaths for any SAK over 74mm.

Sure it's 91mm? That looks a whole lot like the sheaths 108mms were packed in.

Ha! Maybe you're right!
The slip measures 11.4 x 4 cm, does it check in with the 108mm knife sheaths?

It's longer than a 108mm knife, that's for sure.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

My last post was wrong. My SAK Solo, 108mm, has a similar plastic pouch.

I think that's from the set of thin plastic pouches that various items are supplied in.  Searching for 4.0436 on http://mymesser.de/ for example finds a few of them.  But not that specific green one.

In the list below I think "large" means 91mm.

4.0336   small Swiss Army Knives, 1–2 layers
4.0362   for pocket knives 0.61.. – 0.63.., 1 layer
4.0363   for pocket knives 0.63.., 2–3 layers
4.0364   for pocket knives 0.64../0.65.., Alox, steel
4.0365   for pocket knives 0.64../0.65.., Cellidor
4.0366   for pocket knives 0.66..
4.0369   for pocket knives 0.69.., Alox
4.0370   for pocket knives 0.69.., Cellidor
4.0378   for baker’s knife 0.78..
4.0386   green plastic case
4.0387   for ranges 0.87.. bis 0.89..
4.0390   black SKAI case
4.0391   SKAI case, black
4.0436   large Swiss Army Knives, 2 layers
4.0438   large Swiss Army Knives, 3 – 4 layers
4.0440   large Swiss Army Knives, 5 – 7 layers
