And they will probably get sued by Victorinox on patent infringements, like the openers for example

Other big multitool companies use the Victorinox bottle opener design freely. And the patent on the can opener expired around late 70's.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

I see the nail nick of the scissors and conclude it's a China clone..... it's just that it has fancy scales and all that.

Probably you see wrong, because the nail nick in scissors is like Victorinox One, non protuding...:

The implements that protude are the magnifier and the pliers

First, this may be in the wrong spot.

Second, as someone who almost did something really stupid and expensive on Kickstarter and has seen plenty of people pay in for kicks that never started, I'm hesitant to do anything but pass on it. But what the heck.

So. Old name, new owners, product looks like the normal $5 PRC specials that you couldn't pay most of the people here to carry, fitted with custom 3d printed scales. And the webpage is from Wix. Sorry. Nothing screams "fly by night" louder than a Wix web page. Hosting is a couple hundred a year. You need more than that to incorporate.

Not so sorry, but I"m going to have to take a solid "pass" on this offer.

That being said, if Victorinox was to do a service like this, "build your own" with a certain base price, additional cost per layer after the first, and a couple of options have a premium, it would be a "take my money" moment.

Necessity is the mother of invention. If you're not ready, it's "a mother". If you are, it's "mom".

I like the concept and i agree it would be great if Vic offered that service, kinda like "build a bear" for adults.

They do some engraving on scales, in their shops (and a Swiss vendor I know of). Their scales are state of the art and quite flat, in contrast with these 3D printed that need diet and exercise.
But they could easily have a selection of scales of all sorts (plain, translucent, glowing, wood, in any color), that could be engraved and inlaid before shipment. You could also choose a damascus blade on any type of SAK, why not? In fact it is so easy that I suspect that they don't do it in order to keep on manipulating the collectors' market (and now we have a collector's Spartan with green scales in 100 pieces only.
