Leatherman’s List, Best of 2024
on: May 15, 2024, 08:10:08 PM
Received this via email from Leatherman!  I suspect they base the results on sale, maybe product registration or expected use by just guessing 🙄

THE LIST
The Best Multi-tool We’ve Ever Made: ARC®
The International Best Seller: Wave®+
The Best Multi-Tool for Outdoor Adventure: Signal®
The Best for Hard Work: Super Tool® 300
The Best Minimalist EDC: Skeletool® CX
Best Multi-purpose Knife: FREE® K4
Best Pocket Problem Solver: FREE® T4
Best Trauma Shears: Raptor® Rescue
Best Multi-tool for DIY: Rebar®
Best Mini Multi-Tool: Micra

I find it of interest, the SuperTool 300 for HARD WORK and the Rebar for DO IT YOURSELFERS!

Thought I would share, just in case someone is looking as to the best to buy or if a member wants to fill a specialty purpose gap in there tool kit… :multi:

Let's see how many of those optimal Leatherman tools I have.  One.....two......hmmm....three..... I added them all up and the answer is zero.  I'm pretty well satisfied with the sub-par Leatherman tools I have already.  I lost one outside already but found it before it got rusty.  Best wishes.  G

I think that the ARC should be replaced by the Charge or even the Wave ;) the Arc hasn't been out long enough to even make a list really :D

I would also like to know where their info came from

The last Leatherman catalog that I have segregates the various tools by usage groups.  Outdoors, Professionals, Home, Essentials.  Some tools fit in more than one category accords to Leatherman.  That list looks strongly like the recommended usage groups they already have decided.  Best wishes.  Gary

That's what it sounds like, Gordon.  To tell you the truth, none of the tools are a bad choice for their designated categories.  You could certainly do worse.  Best wishes.  G

I'll just stick with my OG Super Tool.  It's been with me for a long time.

I shared this knowing it is self serving to Leatherman, has the best tool ever is the ARC!!!

Yet, the ST300 is called out over the Surge!

And the plain old REBAR (best value MT imho), over the FREE, or the WAVE +!

For me m, I found the ST300 and it appeared to be a HD tool for my construction job. Then with the desire for a small model, I was introduced to the REBAR for home/weekend duty.

Since I have stepped back in time found the PST the OG ST are awl so capable and easy on the pocket (for carry)!!!

New does not mean better🧐

I’m going to use my Rebar and Supertool 300 to build a raft - the tears of the Surge owners are going to flood the place!

I think the Arc will probably be their top seller for a year or two, at least until a P2 version or non-Magnacut option comes out and splits the market.

Yeah, the list looks like a mix of hard data and marketing.  "International Best Seller" is likely from actual data, but "Best Pocket Problem Solver" is pure marketing.

One thing I agree with is the Arc being the best multitool they have ever made.  In fact, it's the best multitool made, period.  The material and design is at least a generation ahead of anything the competition is producing.  :tu:

Butttt the surge blade exchanger is genuine genius, why oh why would you leave that off the Arc????

And the serrated blade, anyone that uses a multi tool for DIY uses both types of blades pe and se

Well,   In my eyes the SURGE is a brick!  Nice gadgety features, to much so for a retrieve deploy and use type solution.

The ST300 is complete, not bits to loose or blades/file to exchange.
The REBAR, its little brother is the same. I have used the Wave for work and on more than one occasion I had to back track my steps just because my driver bit went missing.

The REBAR, never failed me.

I have never held an ARC, at my stage in life, likely I will not, besides the ROI for that item as a tool will never occur.   My ROI on the ST300 ($40) and REBAR ($35) have been smart options.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!
