I just want to say that inconventional is an unconventional word to use.  :D
Everyone has so far been too polite to comment this I guess. The intricacies of the English language are sometimes quite baffling... Indeed, why would a latin-derived word have a negative declination from the more nordic influences, one may logically ask? Never mind, sorry, back to the topic, shall we?

Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

Beautiful quote. One could paraphrase this by saying English has been a tad predatory over time, maybe more so than other languages. Other, at least some European languages have recently returned the favour though :D

English is a pretty recent mix of French and Saxon. While French is a Latin language so influenced by Germanic languages it is quite far from the other Latin languages and so on and so forth ad nauseam. Purity is in general a purely theoretical concept.

Thanks for correcting my incorrect use of the word inconventional.  While I did grow up in the States since I was 9, and did complete a masters degree, I still find myself incorrectly using words from time to time :)

English is the result of Norman men at arms trying to get dates with Saxon barmaids, and is no more or less legitmate as the other results. And now that is is a right big smurf, it roams the world, looking for knocking other langauges over the head and looting their pockets for spare words.

well, not my uses but I'm sure these are uncommon uses...
pulling a tooth out with an MP400

or a dog's tooth with a Tough tool

an improvised paper clip for keeping documents in place

twisting bullets open to take out the powder

and, this one gotta be in the "uncommon things", cut open a piece of damaged nano-flesh to pry out a thumb sized nuclear reactor that has overheated due to the impact of a high energy plasma gun with an MP800

My toys:

MTs: Surge (2x), Skeletool CX, Rebar, Blast, Fuse, Micra, Squirt (3x), Wave, Crunch, Mini, Spirit (2x), Pro Scout, MP700 (2x), Diesel, Powerlock, PowerPlier (2x), PocketPowerPlier, Blacktip , ST6 (2x), 5WR, A100

SAKs: Bantam, Executive, Ambassador, Minichamp, Classic Alox, Champion, Farmer, Explorer, Swisschamp, Golf Tool, Wenger Champ, EVO 52, Pocket Tool Chest

 :D  That's great  ^   :D

I couldn't find pictures but I believe that Multi tools are used in tooth pulling scenes in the films Blade, and Wild Things.

(Fang pulling scene, in the case of Blade)

I've used my Leatherman Charge on many occasions as a door stop. Open it up and put it nose first under doors that automatically close. Absolutely indispensable when moving heavy items  when both hands are full.

It makes me happy to know that Ron Swanson carries an MP400 for some reason

My 17 SAKs-and-other-blades carry turns my multi pocketed vest into an armored vest, with layer upon layer of steel protecting my upper body. It also serves as a dead weight to keep my feet firmly on the ground.  :D

I have used my ST300 as a shim wedge for both door and cabinet instalation

I used that little screwdriver/wrench/trigger lock key OPT that comes with Hi-point firearms as an interior door key daily for two years. It was also just the right size to get into the clips that held the various dash panels in my F150 when I had to rip the whole dash out to change a heater core.

What Smurf thought it was a good Idea to burry a 50$ part in such a way it requires you disassemble 90% of the interior to get to?!?
