Pliers-Scissors Multitool
on: September 04, 2017, 12:55:09 PM
It was ages ago, when we were discussing a possible combined pliers and scissors multitool. Some guy here proceeded and designed such a tool in some thread, opening in the M manner. Sorry for my bed memory, if you remember something, go ahead.

Well, such a tool already exists!

It goes for 11.90 euros.  It looks like an N opened, Juice inspired, Skeletool sized, China bladed, CTSmart Multi-use Pliers named, multitool.

What's your impression? Anybody tried it?

Didn't we see that one in a recent thread, dedicated to the great bang-for-buck OUTU multitool?

Think it was ThePeacent's

Yeah, there have been a few threads on this one. I own one myself, and am a bit less impressed with it than some other members.

The scissors are alright. One of the better features on the thing. The pliers on mine had excessive play out of the box and feel quite flimsy when used to grip anything. I'm fairly certain they'd be demolished by anything more than the lightest job.
Also, the knife blade has jimping at the base of the spine that can't be used when it's deployed. I assume it's a repurposed blade from a different knife or tool. Doesn't really affect the performance, but it does make you feel like they didn't really care about the construction.

I just got mine in the mail a couple days ago.  When I first saw this design I was very impressed because I love the innovation.

I'm not even a scissors person, I usually couldn't care less about having scissors but this one impressed me and the price was so low that I just got one.

I agree with WoodDuck.  One of the first things I noticed was the jimping on the blade, then i opened the blade and thought "well that's weird, I cant use that."   I like the size and shape of the blade so I was very disappointed that it was tip down carry and non-locking.  There is a ton of space to fit a liner lock inside but they didn't.  I almost want to see if it would be possible to sodder a liner lock in there just to say that I did it.
But the worst part is the file/bottle opener.  Very cheap metal on that tool, doesn't seem like it would work for much.

love the design,  just wish it was better.
