My SAK journey
on: February 24, 2018, 02:35:47 PM
I have carried a pocket knife since I was ten, My faithfulness with Victorinox started in1986 with a Bantam my wife gave me, sadly I broke the combi tool in the early 90s and that started a love affair with the recruit that I've carried up to now. Fast forward to 2017, I asked for and received a Camper for Christmas with a sheath that was meant for 111mm knives, so to correct that I bought the Outrider, now 2018 I join the111mm challenge and put the Recruit away because the Camper was meant to replace it, now carrying the Outrider I'm exposed to scissors on me at all times and there would be no going back so I added the Fieldmaster. I thought the journey would end here, but seeing them all together I should probably add a Classic and a Swisschamp.

Since you like scissors, might I suggest a pioneer X?  :climber:

The Classic and Swiss Champ are both great SAKS. After that there are plenty of more models to choose from.

Greg,

You haven't lived until you've owned a Compact.   :pok:

Once you have a Compact, you'll be asking yourself, "Where has this been all my life?" I know, I've been there.

My grandfather (Morfar) gave me my first SAK when I was 9 years old. I think it was a Climber.  :climber: I've never been without a SAK since. Four decades of SAK enjoyment since that birthday present.

I only discovered the Compact last year. ¡Wow! Where has this been all my life?

Black scales and spring loaded main blade is the Victorinox Fonzy. It also has a flick out comb for your DA.  :tu:

It's a Swissflame and a stick of TNT.

But since the Swissflame won't work it's basically just the TNT plus an expensive bit of metal.

The SwissFlame I sold last year was fully functional. Not all of them are bad. However I didn´t sell any TNT along with it.

I've owned about a dozen of them and none of them worked reliably. Some of them did though, for a while.
