had a huntsman with pouch unopened for almost 3 years. almost pulled the trigger on huntsman 2 from recent sale, but thought to myself I have a silver tech and a huntsman light and this sealed one so i went with another model and decided to open the clam package. unfortunately one scale has a few blemishes, maybe from the packaging, but they wont rub off. Next I find the bottle opener has a very tight spring and is harder to close than all my others. lastly, the pouch is not the greatest, the knife has to slide past a folded over seam of leather which will also cause surface scratches over time.So...open your goodies right away is the lesson I learned, cant exchange a 3 year old purchase

I saw the topic title and thought you meant a real clam.

I'm sorry the sheath isn't to your liking; if it's the one I'm thinking of, I've always liked the looks of the sheath, but I am not a fan of hook and loop closure options; snaps are less likely to wear out.
