dont let your sak sit in a clam for 3 years
on: September 06, 2017, 11:50:58 AM
had a huntsman with pouch unopened for almost 3 years. almost pulled the trigger on huntsman 2 from recent sale, but thought to myself I have a silver tech and a huntsman light and this sealed one so i went with another model and decided to open the clam package. unfortunately one scale has a few blemishes, maybe from the packaging, but they wont rub off. Next I find the bottle opener has a very tight spring and is harder to close than all my others. lastly, the pouch is not the greatest, the knife has to slide past a folded over seam of leather which will also cause surface scratches over time.

So...open your goodies right away is the lesson I learned, cant exchange a 3 year old purchase

well at least I have a huntsman I can use now, the silver and ruby lite version are too pretty to mess up by actually using them so they stay in their boxes until I want to ogle them

I saw the topic title and thought you meant a real clam.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Lol

I was going for the sexual double entendre with that title, but an actual clam is pretty funny/bizarre as well

Oh god, no, SAKs don't belong there.  :twak:

I'm sorry the sheath isn't to your liking; if it's the one I'm thinking of, I've always liked the looks of the sheath, but I am not a fan of hook and loop closure options; snaps are less likely to wear out.

yeah its the leather with snap and belt clip, its decent enough, just think they need additional row of stitching to keep it from being in the way of things on the interior

Ah the Target store Huntsman pack. Not bad, just put new scales on it.
