An Interesting Lot
on: September 16, 2017, 02:25:37 AM
Found this lot of SAKs ending in an hour, and bid, and I won, for $35. There were three in it, a Vic Recruit, a 1960s Vic Fieldmaster or Artisan (looks 84mm by the seller's ruler), and a Wenger Master (as per the Wiki).

t looks like the  Vic Fieldmaster-like knife is late 1960s, file on square Phillips, clip point blade, scraper on bottle opener, and PAT can opener. No lanyard ring/bail of any sort. Seems to fit the Wiki's photo and description of an Artisan.  And were any of those sheaths sold by Vic or Wenger?

Seller's Photos.

Wenger master is a great knife. Congrats. Great for camping, very high functionality to size ratio.

Artisan, no doubt. You don't even need to look at the ruler. Backside tools are the same length on both the 91 and the 84, so you can use those for ratio. But also the contour of the scissors is a dead give away. And I love scrapers on the bottle openers- I don't have the guts or hands steady enough to try to duplicate that on a modern one.

I like this lot. You got the score of the day, if not the week on that.
