I'm all in the Christmas Spirit right now and very happy from getting the SwissChamp for my bday. It's like an early christmas. I went and got my old DVDs of Home Alone 1 and 2 to watch with SwissChamp. I decided to snap a few pics of the screen showing Kevin's new Wenger. Only $23.50 along with the silly string dragon and a big map, what a deal! Cool that a toy store carried them too. Remember when every kid used to have one?

My heart broke as he dropped it on the pavement and than left it there after not even having it for more than a minute.  RIP.

Oh man, why did he drop it???  I'm going to have to watch now.

Drama. Harry and Marv walked out of the toy shop and walked up behind him saying "Hiya pal" than Kevin's hands open and he drops the NYC Map and Wenger Champ on ground and runs off leaving them there .

Makes you wonder how he crafted all those booby traps without a SAK...   ???   Sounds like MacGyver could learn a lesson from Kevin McCallister!

Yeah, very wise purchase of him after being in NYC without anything, should've held on to it when he ran.  :ahhh I was just watching MacGyver and noticed he mostly just uses the main blade to do the Hollywood "magic knife" trick, ie just poke around at things with the blade in a visually pleasing manner for the camera

In the movie Behind Enemy Lines, Owen Wilson uses a SAK to unscrew the film pack from the jet wreckage before being rescued.

any idea what model?

It is a classic 91 mm Victorinox Spartan 1.3603 with red cellidor scales.

In "The Great Escape" James Garner tells Blyth the goons didn't appreciate some of his belongings, such as - and procedes to slip a large Swiss Army knife out of his flight jacket.

It's when Henley first meets Blyth, and Blyth asks where Henley's gear is.

Just watched Scream 2, amd towards the middle of the movie the cameraman character is seen whittling a piece of wood with what appears to be a Victorinox Swisschamp (I guess Swisschamps could be part of a cameraman's work gear).

Sorry for bringing back this old thread, but I know y'all wanted to know this.

The Package.  Gene Hackman uses the bottle opener/screwdriver on a 91mm Victorinox to switch license plates.

The Peacemaker.  George Clooney hands Nicole Kidman a 91mm Victorinox to disarm a nuclear device.  She snaps the main blade in the attempt.

Lethal Weapon 3.  Mel Gibson uses the scissors from a 85mm Wenger to cut the wrong wire on a bomb.

The Martian.  Matt Damon uses an orange Victorinox Hunter Pro in several scenes.

Welcome to the Punch (2013): Mark Strong uses the can opener tip of a Wenger SI to unscrew an air vent plate from the wall.

In the River Wild the boy is gifted a Champ which is featured a few times in the film, including starting a fire with the mag glass.

Yep. I've done it, but had good sunlight and a choice of tinder at my disposal. It takes a lot of patience and near perfect conditions to make it work.
In a survival situation I'd probably try for a friction fire first.

As mentioned before, Wes Anderson often features a SAK of some kind in his films (Rushmore, Royal Tenembaums). Here's my fave (from the excellent Moonrise Kingdom) - a custom stag handled one: (funny reference to the Shawshank Redemption included and employee monitoring ).

I believe that Mr. Bean has a passing relationship with SAK's. Rowan Atkinson has used a SAK a few times in funny situations. In "Mr. Bean's Holiday" he uses what looks like the pen of a mini champ. In an episode called "Mind the baby" he uses a SAK to cut up a teddy bear for a diaper.
Don't get too serious, just enough will do.
