Female SAKoholics?
on: October 27, 2008, 06:14:25 AM
Any one knows of any, seen one  ???, heard of their existence? Well till I found this site (along with sosak etc...) I though I was the only one with the sickness, now I know there are many more of us (male sakoholics). Anyone knows of the breed that come in a feminine form or maybe even one here amongst us. Any tips on how to turn a girl in to one are appreciated. I was thinking of a pink classic as an experiment, see where it'll go from there.  :P

Wenger nail clipper is a popular choice too.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

My wife loves her Executive, and she carries a Swisscard as a backup.  She uses it frequently, but she's certainly no SAKoholic.

There used to be many female SAKaholics long ago, but we couldn't stop Micky from constantly hitting on them, taking them out, and for some reason they never came back.... :P

Considering the overly male arena this forum is, If I were a female sakaholic I think I'd be tempted not to mention the fact and always type in a gruff voice ;)

it's not Def's fault, he likes ample bosoms and decided to get some of his own...

Heh interesting discussion there. I'm thinking a pink classic and a pink parker pen. I love parker pens (not a collector) think she'll like the combo.
And yeah I can understand why if there were any female SAKhocolics amongst us they'd stay on the low side.

My wife is no sakaholic, but she does appreciate them.  She has a pink swisscard lite and a LM Micra.  Her family are really big into the outdoors.  Her mom carries a Flair and a LM 302.  Her brother an eagle scout, carries a LM 302, and her dad carries a SOG toolclip or the Leatherman Wave I just got him.  She felt left out that if she needed to cut something she had to borrow mine.  So I bought her the swisscard lite and she loves that thing.  It has everything most women need from time to time.  An excellent pair or scissors, decent tweezers, a straight pin, ballpoint pen, toothpick, magnifying glass, and a very small flashlight.  She carries the Micra just to say she has a Leatherman, since everyone in her family has one.

I got the pink one at staples a while ago, it was part of breast cancer awareness/donation drive campaign. Yeah I'm using stainless/black parker atm, the one I had before (lost by a coworker) was burgundy and matched my sak scales. I'd like to get a stainless one as well.

Woolworths in the UK had them in a while back on sale for about £2!  They had pink, light blue and a mushy looking green.  I quite liked the green but I already have a few Parkers and as I don't collect them couldn't really justify getting another for the colour.

That brings us to another interesting point.  This may be sexist but its so true; most women choose stuff based on colour.  When I got a 58mm for my wife last Christmas she was less fussed as to the tool selection than the fact it had to be purple :)

Beofre we met she knew what a Leatherman was, because of her mom.  But of course her mom thought her flair was a wave.
