Puma SAK
on: March 29, 2020, 09:31:39 PM
I just got a 1980 German made Puma (in original box) in the exact configuration ( no tweezers/toothpick) as the Vic Tinker in my pocket. Didn't know Puma made SAK type knives. I have a set of German made ISC (Imperial-Schrade Corp) SAKs.

Seller says mint in box. I wonder did Puma make a line if SAK-a-likes as ISC did?

Adler made them for Schrade, and I would not be surprised if they also made them for Puma.

Thanks, ALDER MESSER seems to have made SAK-a-likes for several companies.

Nice find !

I have a Camper look-alike by Adler but I would love one with the Puma logo.

Can we have a pic of the tang stamp please ?

Haven't received it yet. All I could see in seller's pics was "Inox/Germany". Good Puma Logo on front scale and in original Puma box. A friend who has a large Puma collection says it's legit; probably a contract knife for Puma.

Got knife today.Nice Knife; contract knife just tang marked "INOX/Germany". Idiot seller ruined the box by wrapping it in string/fiber tape ! Scale marked with PUMA logo.

Not a problem. Had rubber gloves on whole time - what the H, we're all going to die of  something.

I don't give a smurfing smurf about death! I'm concerned about you taking a mint SAK out of the box!

OK. Misunderstood your post. Box was/is a 40 year old disaster, opened many, many times - esp. after seller wrapped it in strapping tape.

I was just kidding. Use it and enjoy it. I have some SAKs and other knives and they never see the light of day. I'm only confortable using a knife when I have at least a couple more stached away as "backups".

Ugh. Happened to me a few times. I always drop a friendly note to sellers who don’t look like they handle collectibles much... Sometimes it’s too late and they’ve already taped it up after taking pics.

I hope the damage isn’t too bad. That’s a really cool knife.

On second look, I did notice tape in the pic. On both ends.  :(

Kamakiri

I did not notice that.  I have been able to remove most of the tape with minimal damage to the old box.
