Uneven Spyderco (PM2) Grinds
on: October 07, 2017, 09:38:15 PM
Recently purchased a new Spyderco Paramilitary 2 and over all it’s fine (assuming its not a fake, which I am 98% sure it is authentic). There is one minor issue that I have come accross which is that the blade grind is slighty uneven.  Near the tip on one side, you can see the grind is fialry inconsistant and one side is more shallow than the other. I was wondering if this is typical for a U.S. made Spyderco.  Am I being too nit-picky?

I would have loved to post some pictures but this websites size retrictions prohibit that

I have no idea whether this is common, as I have very limited experience with Spydies, but at least the first time you sharpen it, you will be able to correct it and you will then have a perfect knife  ;)

Would not be able to tell without pictures. I have owned 8 or 9 PM2's and the edge has been even on all of them.

I started a thread on spotting fake PM2's. It's worth a look if you have any doubt about its authenticity.

Yeah, It's strange that their higher quality knives come from Taichung.

Thanks for the response, guys. Speaking of which, are there fakes of any of the Taichung knives going around?

To be honest I have not been keeping up on fakes lately so I am not sure.

I was researching Delicas but have come across posts of certain models having uneven grinds that were not fakes. If that helps.
