ORANGE, share all things Orange!
on: October 09, 2017, 06:02:40 PM
For me Orange is a favorite color!
My wife does not understand why, yet more so in later stages of life I have been captivated by items that are orange and many find a way into my collection.

It may because I am a Halloween baby, same day as my grandfather! Or, because I am 75% Dutch and like carrots!

Please share anything that is Orange in this thread.  I know some tools and knifes are released with orange coloring, as well as Pens, cars, boats, flowers, trees, etc.

Thank you in advance for sharing, and let’s have fun.

My first contribution

We are doing great, only descriptions of tools that are easily recognized.

Yes, this is for my fetish, yet hope others will enjoy and pile on.

I recall during a 11th Anniversary contest, the color most desired of tools by moderators was Orange.
The question has haunted me, because I answered Coyote Brown, not my favorite!!

I have the XT which has the phillips not the corkscrew.  I believe the model Ronald has get the CS in addition to the XT.

I also understood Ronald’s has a separate serrated blade plus a saw.

IIRC, you had yours for sale, and I almost bought but you pulled from the listing.  NOW I really want one of the XT

Does yours have the 2 blades? Or a combo blade like the OHT?

The official Victorinox websites list mine as a Hunter XT. The Phillips edition is a USA thing most likely.

I got it when they came out.  I've resisted thus far cause I keep it in a drawer and not with my other SAKs.  Otherwise I think seeing it I may have broke down and opened it

The corkscrew is a European tradition of course. Hunting was a pastime for nobility, and nobility drink wine; beer is for commons. The same holds for officer´s knives versus soldier´s knives. Of old, officers in European armies were recruited from the nobility. The Phillips is a fairly recent addition in Victorinox´ repertoire.

That is most interesting Ronald.  You then must be a Nobleman.

Most of us in the US would be commoners.  At least I would be a lessor common.

But, I do like the Hunter as I do like 110 size.
