Tarrodemierda, yep him again.
on: October 27, 2008, 01:36:31 AM
Did another little trade with Mikko and would like to say thanks once more.

I was the weirdo who wanted the old syringe he was trading :D

Knowing that I'm a bit of a magpie for old metal things he added into the package this ...

Yes you can click it to see it big.

Now we all wait with baited breath for Mikko to give us its providence :pok:

Whilst technically correct, the term being a shortened form of abated, baited is used in this sense just as often and not just by dodgy individuals like me :)

And you are all equally wrong. :D

I'm not usually a purist or anything, but baited is entirely a different word and meaning!

OLF,

Well done old bean...correct spelling is the way forward so I will offer you my most enthusiastic contrafribularities.

I'm sure that NBK is anispeptic, frasmotic, even compunctuous to have caused you such pericombobulation.  :D

im back :ahhh

i had a total bölack out from internet for few days, someone from citys water-office cut thru web-cables and quite large part of town didnt have web-connections.funny,it was always like goin back to stone-age for certain people :D

well the item i sent to NKB is old russian coin, and its more accurately "100 kopeka´s".ive had it for all my life,at least i can remenber havin it in age of 7-8.its from 1792,if i still remember right, nkb can check the stampings to make sure.
i just thought it will have a decent home at his place than in my well organized chaos

So you suffered from "the flat cap effect".  Well that's what we used to call it back in my IT days.  i.e. some bloke in a flat cap putting his shovel through the fibre bundle :)

I must admit that just looking at it I couldn't figure if the eagle was Russian or Austrian but guessed from its source the prior.  I got even more confused because I thought in 1792 Finland was under Swiss control  my knowledge of European history is flaky to say the least  :-\   What are the initials on the other side? Because of the year I kept thiking about Franz II but that makes no sense at all.  Oh I haven't a clue  :ahhh :D

Its presently sat amongst my curios between a brass Lincoln imp and an old trench lighter. From living in Finish chaos its now in English chaos

well...the only thing i know we heritaged from swiss prince, who was about to be the ruler of Finns once uopn our history,is that Fazer still makes some candies in fine tin-box that has a image of that dudes crown in it,he sure didnt get any logos etc printed in our coins.the coin dates back to days when we were under command from big red eastern comrades.the two headed eagle was, atleast back then, some kind of federal logo of those commie´s.

Yes.  Problem is when you get looking at all the different parties who have used it, it gets really confusing as they all look very similar and they all slightly change the design depending on the phase of the moon or which ear their dog is itching.   :ahhh  I think I'll let my little Lincoln imp try and figure it out for me, make more sense of it than me ;)

Somewhere or other I have a few Saxon and Roman coins, must try and find them before my boys get them and use them to get jelly beans out of those dispensing machines  >:(
