Seki MicroToolclip
on: October 27, 2017, 06:54:29 PM
This morning, I was browsing for a Paratool and came across a Seki made Micro Toolclip for $16. It had two issues, a missing spring & broken plier handle lock, as well as a poorly sharpened PE blade. Since all I wanted was a user, I bought it.

I can't wait until it gets here, as I liked the overall features and size of the current version but it had some issues, relating to the steel used (soft 7Cr17MoV), the odd positioning of the Phillips, and the latching mechanism for the pliers (which was easily released). The one thing I wish the Seki version had was a metal instead of Zytel clip, which was what was on the last two MicroToolclip versions.

What steel did SOG use back then on this model--a flavor of AUS?

Seller's photos.

Great score!  I haven't actually put my hands on one of these yet so which spring is missing?
