When I was a wee boy, we didn’t have pumpkins, but we had turnips. One year, feeling I was missing out, I hollowed out a turnip with a spoon….
My family just finished. I fashioned mine to scare Milennials;) I used the Victorinox Executive, an ice cream scoop and pasta claw. (Image removed from quote.)Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
I don't carve pumpkins anymore. I have a realistic looking plastic Jack O Lantern that uses a night light bulb instead of a candle. It's cleaner and safer.

When I was a wee boy, we didn’t have pumpkins, but we had turnips. One year, feeling I was missing out, I hollowed out a turnip with a spoon…. a… spoon! Anyway, I carved a face in it, stuck in a candle and put the top back on. The candle dehydrated and eventually started to burn the top… the resulting stench which filled the house at dinner time was not unlike a ripe dog fart.
No more turmips for me, i've moved up in the world...Behold, my Green Pepper of Doom - all look upon it and dispair!!!
