Crucial Repair
on: August 19, 2020, 10:59:49 PM
Hello! So the liner lock for the "phillips screwdriver" on my Crucial is snapped off. Wouldn't be a huge deal, except that the driver is now floppy and can swing out on its own. Any ideas on how to get the driver to stay put? Or, is it possible to find just that part for cheap? Thanks for any thoughts.

If you can find a beat up Crucial, maybe you can transfer the liner from it to yours.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Perhaps you could glue a small magnet underneath the screwdriver.

If you live in an area outside of the US, I think that's the best option. But, most cheap Crucials I see are also here in the US.

Else, send it off on warranty. I've sent absolutely trashed stuff, and Gerber sent me back brand new, boxed examples.

Can you tighten up the pivot screw enough that friction stops it flopping around ?  (I can't quite see in your photo but it looks more like a screw than a rivet)

Thank you all for the thoughts. I'll let you know how it pans out. Now I just need to find a tool small enough for that star nut.
